School board decisions a blow to west Louisville
The decision by the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) to build a new school in the upscale neighborhood of Norton Commons is yet another blow to the low-income and working-class families of west Louisville. The Black Alliance for Educational Options is saddened to see such a blatant disregard for this vulnerable community just weeks after the closing of Myers Middle School.
Time is now for charter schools in Kentucky
By almost any measure, children in Kentucky are in an educational crisis and that crisis is most profound for black children.
